For the OpenAI Agents API
A team chat for the agent you built on OpenAI.
You built the agent on the OpenAI Agents API. Melony lets your teammates use it: they sign in with Google, chat, and share conversations, while your API key stays on our server.
Set up in a few minutes
Paste your OpenAI API key
Sign in with Google and choose Connect agent. Melony lists the agents your key can see. The lookup is read-only and stores nothing.
Pick your agent
Choose the agent you built at platform.openai.com/agents. If your key can’t list agents, paste the agent ID instead.
Invite your team
Add up to 3 teammates by email. People without an account join automatically the first time they sign in with that Google email.
Chat and share
Each chat starts private. Share one with everyone on the agent when it’s useful to the team.
What stays on OpenAI, and what Melony adds
Melony is a distribution layer, not an agent builder. It never asks for your model, instructions, prompts or tools.
| OpenAI keeps | Melony adds |
|---|---|
| The agent: model, instructions and tools | A hosted chat UI with streaming replies and chat history |
| Sessions, messages and memory | Google sign-in and a member list per agent |
| Tool execution and hosted tools | Private-by-default chats you can share with the team |
| Billing on your API key | A server-side proxy so the key never reaches a browser |

- One key, held by the ownerThe owner connects one OpenAI API key per agent and pays for usage as usual. Teammates never get a key of their own.
- OpenAI-hosted sandbox, opt-inOwners and admins can turn on the OpenAI-hosted environment for new sessions, which Melony requests when it creates each session.
- Vaults by ID onlyWith the hosted sandbox on, attach an OpenAI Vault by its ID. Melony stores the ID and never sees the secret values.
- Tool activity you can followFunction calls, MCP calls, web searches and command runs appear inline, along with reasoning summaries when OpenAI provides them. Melony displays them; it doesn’t run tools.
Frequently asked questions
How do I share an agent built on the OpenAI Agents API with my team?
Connect the agent to Melony with your OpenAI API key, then invite up to 3 teammates by email. They sign in with Google and chat with the agent in a hosted UI. Your key stays on Melony’s server.
Do my teammates need an OpenAI account or API key?
No. Teammates only need a Google account. Requests go through Melony’s server using the owner’s key, and the key is never sent to a browser.
Does Melony change my agent’s model, instructions or tools?
No. Melony never asks for or overrides the model, instructions, prompts or tools. Edit the agent on the OpenAI platform and the changes show up in Melony.
Where are conversations stored?
On OpenAI, as sessions of your agent. Melony stores only session IDs and who may see them, so it can keep each person’s chats private.
Are there usage limits?
Each agent can have up to 3 teammates besides the owner, pending invites included, and each person can send up to 100 messages per day. OpenAI usage is billed to the owner’s key.
